Q: Upon arrival, how do we get a key to get into the house or condo?
A: Upon receipt of your final payment, we will send you information regarding checkin.

Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Yes, well-mannered pets are allowed, with a maximum of 3 pets.  We charge a $250 pet deposit.  If there has been no damage, $200 of the deposit is refundable.  We keep $50 of the deposit as a housekeeping fee.  A generous portion of the yard is fenced.  Be aware, however, that there are sticker-burrs in the yard.

Q: How is the house equipped? Do I need to bring anything?
A: The kitchen is fully equipped and has a blender, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, deep fat fryer, and fondue pot, as well as the usual kitchen appliances and implements. There should be plenty of sheets, towels, etc. You may want to bring towels for use at the beach.

Q: I am thinking about bringing some CDs and videos. What do you have in the house?
A: There are 2 TVs with cable TV.  The TV in the main room has a CD player.  The TV in the bedroom as a CD/VCR player.  There is also a stereo with a CD changer and tape deck. There are some tapes, CDs, and videos in the house, but feel free to bring your own. There are places to rent videos on the island as well.

Q: We only have 1 car. Is there transportation on the island?
A: You are within easy walking distance of the Beach and main streets of Port Aransas. Additionally, there is a trolley that stops directly in front of the house. The trolley makes a loop of the island, stopping at various places such as the beach, downtown, the Birding Facility, pier, and Mustang Airport. The trolley runs continuously from 10am until 6pm, longer hours during the summer and on weekends.  The cost of the trolley is 25 cents.

Q: I noticed that your check-in time is 4pm. I am arriving at noon. Is it possible to have an early checkin?
A: If noone is scheduled to depart that same day, you may be able to. We should be able to confirm a couple of days before you arrive.

Q: What happens if we have to cancel the trip a couple of days in advance due to an unforeseen emergency?
A: Within 14 days of arrival, your payment is nonrefundable. If we are able to rebook the property, we will refund your money minus
1 night’s stay. You may want to consider purchasing trip cancellation insurance from a travel agent. Additionally, if you have to cut your visit short, you will get no refund for the unused days.

Q: What do we do if repairs are needed while we are in the house?
A: There is a list of phone numbers for repair companies in the house. They should be called directly if a problem needs immediate attention. Please inform the house managers, Veril and Barbie Barr, as well so they will be aware of the problem.

Q: I have an infant and am trying to decide what to bring. What equipment do you have in the house?
A: There is a portable crib, crib sheets, highchair, and booster seat in the house.

Q: Is housekeeping provided?
A: Housekeeping is not provided during your stay. There are cleaning supplies available, as well as a dishwasher.  The house has a washer and dryer in the downstairs utility room. If you would like a housekeeper during your stay, please contact Veril & Barbie Barr and they can provide names and phone numbers of housekeeping services for you, at your expense.

Q: What if it rains the entire time? Do I get any money back?
A: If the weather is not good, you will not get a refund. However, there are many indoor things to do on and around the Island. Please see the “about us” page for ideas. If there is a hurricane warning or watch for Port Aransas which causes you to cancel or shorten your trip, you will get a refund of the unused nights.

Q: Is there a phone in the house?
A: Yes. The phone number at the house is 361-749-7654. If you make long-distance calls, we will send you a bill. The charge is 20 cents per minute.
